Escapement
A Manifesto
Time has always belonged to those who understood it first.
Harrison didn't follow the consensus. He built what he knew to be correct, while the establishment looked elsewhere. The market caught up. It always does.
Escapement exists for the same reason.
We do not curate by price. We do not curate by brand recognition, by waiting lists, or by what appears on the wrist of a celebrity or the cover of a magazine.
We curate by a single, uncompromising standard.
Is this watch correct?
Correct in its engineering. Correct in its ambition. Correct in what it solves, what it refuses to compromise, what it dares to attempt.
Beauty and iconicity are consensus positions. And consensus, by definition, has already been priced in.
We are interested in what has not yet been priced in.
Escapement is not a collectors club. It is a circle of people who think — investors, founders, operators — who have discovered that the discipline required to find alpha in a market is identical to the discipline required to find merit in a movement.
Independent of who made it. Independent of what the establishment says.
We are not early adopters. We are correct.
The market will arrive at the same conclusions.
We will simply have been there first.
